NIGER DELTANS FORCES FG TO POSTPONE SUMMIT – THE REASON WILL SHOCK YOU
A few hours after some prominent Niger Deltans complained about the modalities for the Summit being put together by the Federal Government, the event has been put off.

The Summit was scheduled for September 26 and 27 in Abuja. On Friday, some prominent Niger Deltans, including Chief Edwin Clark, Timi Alaibe and Uranta Uranta, complained about the modalities for the Summit.

Shortly after this, the Federal Government issued a statement postponing the Summit indefinitely.

The statement, signed by the Secretary of the committee saddled with organising the Summit, Donald B. Wokoma, said the Summit, which was expected to bring participants carefully drawn from across various groups of critical stakeholders together, will now hold at a later date.

No reason was, however, given for the postponement of the Summite in the statement.

Wokoma however assured that the intention of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration of providing an enduring political blueprint geared towards a more lasting peace and sustainable development in the Niger Delta region remains unwavering.
