BUHARI DROPS BOMBSHELL TO GRADUATES – ITS TIME TO START CREATING JOBS FOR YOURSELVES, NIGERIA IS FACING CRISIS

President Muhammadu Buhari has advised graduates of tertiary institutions across the country to commence the process of creating jobs for themselves with the understanding of the current economic crises facing the nation.

The AUTHORITY gathered that the President also urged managers of universities and other tertiary in-institutions to desist from all forms of corruptions and wastages stressing that all available resources should be channelled to teaching and research.

President Buhari spoke at the 32nd convocation ceremony of the University of Ilorin at the weekend.

He further disclosed that he was aware of the numerous hardships confronting the people of nation, saying the government would soon overcome the economic crises.

Represented by the Dep¬uty Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC), Pro-fessor Chiedu Mafiana, he congratulated the new graduands, their parents, guard¬ians, relations and friends who have gathered to rejoice with them on the successful completion of their studies.

According to him, “Every¬one and indeed the nation is proud of you because your labour and the sacrifices of your sponsors and benefactors over the years have not been in vain. When you are successful in one area of your life, it often leads to success in other areas. It is on this note that I urge you to put into practice all the knowledge, expertise and skills you have acquired from the university to guide you through your life endeavours.”

While commending the authority of the university for academic excellence, President Buhari said, “UNILORIN remains a source of pride and joy to the nation for maintaining a ro¬bust academic tradition and unbroken academic calen¬dar for upwards of 16 years. This landmark achievement has proved that our universities can carry out their legiti¬mate activities without un¬necessary and unacceptable interruptions.”
